we all know the amount of nuclear weapons at disposal right now could devastate the entire world. Obama and his staff have arranged for a meeting in which the countries would discuss to give up their nuclear weapons for peace of mind. Ukraine has now given up its nuclear power. Maybe more countries will follow in its footsteps and let the world be nuclear weapon free. Just need to be careful that it doesnt fall into the wrong hands (al-quaida)

smoking ban, less stress on hospitals

i know this isn't a big issue politically, or world wide but it sure can help with the study of smoking and its negative effects. Smoking has been banned in restaurants and bars in Toronto, and therefore the number of people going to the hospital for smoking related reasons have severely decreased.

The Thai commission wants the party in power to pass the torch, as they have been misusing funds for private needs. there have been violent attacks, and the President is being urged to resign his position. The army could not stop all the protests going on. Protesting has been a key, in raising awareness in many recent events in the world, such as the genocide of Tamil's in Srilanka

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki

are talking bad about Obama's new nuclear strategy. They are mocking him, and poking fun at him at speeches infront of large groups of people. He mainly said that Obama shouldn't follow in the footsteps of Bush, otherwise he would get the same treatment as him from the international community. He refers to the US president as a cowboy, in the sense that when they are losing arguement they just resort to violence. Also he beleives that Obama cannot corner Iran, as none of the previous leaders have. I beleive that the president is "hating" on Obama's ideas for the nuclear weapon. Iran continues to make nuclear weapons, and insists that it is enriching uranium for peaceful civilian purposes. The western allies beleive this to be "b.s"

Civil war in Iraq

People in Iraq are living in fear that another civil war might break out soon. There is still killing going on, and some believe that it is increasing as the days go by....People stand by while watching buildings being torn down that have been damaged by bombs. Until the problem there is solved, the Iraqies must live in fear of another civil war.

More people are being killed. All for political reasons. The naxal rebel group killed 85 Indian security gaurds over the last three days. The prime minister Manmohan Singh, doesn't seem like he cares that much. If this situation were to be in Canada, I'm pretty sure that Harper would send some of our military over to protect security gaurds. RAIPUR, India, April 6 (Xinhua) -- The death number of Indian security personnel killed by left-wing Naxal rebels Tuesday attained 85 as more bodies were retrieved from the battleground and some injured succumbed to their injuries, said a police spokesman here late Tuesday.

The rebels staged an ambush against the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in Dantewada district of Chhatisgarh. The dead included CRPF personnel from the 62nd battalion and one Chhattisgarh state police officer.

The Naxals attacked the vehicles of security personnel between Chintalnar and Tademetla area. They first triggered a landmine blast and the moment the vehicle stopped, the rebels ambushed the CRPF team from a hill top, Chhattisgarh Police spokesperson RK VIJ said

CRPF Director General Vikram Srivastava, who rushed from the national capital to the scene, said "the CRPF men were in the forests for operational duty when the Naxals attacked. It is very tragic and sad."

The CRPF team had been camping in the interiors of Tarmetla jungles for the last three days as part of a combing operation and area domination exercise.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who chaired an emergency security meeting with his cabinet officials, described this as "a horrific incident".
